Two Days of My College Life: Day 1

So I've had this idea for a while.  I took my camera with me to school for two whole days and documented all of it.  I took pictures of me walking places, people I ran into, and basically everything I did.  This will show you what takes place in my life in any average day.

I chose to document a Monday and a Tuesday, mainly because my classes differ on those two days.  Other than that they are seriously the epitome of an average day of my life.  Exciting?  Perhaps.

Day 1 - Monday, September 26, 2011

(None of these pictures have been touched by Photoshop)

9/26/2011 9:06 AM
This is the vanity area.  Six people live in my apartment.  Not much to say here.

9/26/2011 9:10 AM
I have an electric toothbrush.

9/26/2011 9:19 AM
And I'm off!  On Monday my first class doesn't start until 9:30 AM, so I'm the last to leave.  It's nice being able to sleep in on these days.
9/26/2011 9:19 AM
I was so happy to see Rachel upon leaving the apartment hahaha!!!  Ok, we always tell Rachel that whoever she marries is going to become the Bishop.  She always cooks for everyone and often hosts various activities.  She is great.  She lives at the same complex as me and therefor attend the same ward.
9/26/2011 9:19 AM
This is where I live.  It's pretty old, but the people are fun.
9/26/2011 9:23 AM
Looking South on Canyon Rd.  Yes, I am J-walking, thus avoiding dead weight loss concerning my life and time.
9/26/2011 9:27 AM
Walking...

9/26/2011 9:28
Looking East at the Tanner Building.  I'm minoring in management, so I have those classes here.  Here I'm going to my Marketing Management class.  It's enjoyable, though I don't feel that what I'm learning is anything I haven't already taught myself as a result of being alive.

9/26/2011 9:29 AM
This is on the South side of the Tanner Building.  Sometimes I eat here.

9/26/2011 9:30 AM
The doors ahead are where my class is.

9/26/2011 9:30 AM
My management class.

9/26/2011 9:44 AM
I always sit at the front of my classes.  It helps me stay focused.
9/26/2011 10:51 AM
Class is over and up the stairs I go to get to the top part of campus.

9/26/2011 10:53 AM
This is the stupid crosswalk I got in trouble for for J-walking.  This light wastes hours of people's time daily.

9/26/2011 10:55 AM
Between classes is always pretty busy.

9/26/2011 10:56 AM
Campus.  You can see pride rock in the background.

9/26/2011 10:56
This is the entrance of the library.  It looks like a swimming pool.  If if I don't have class I go here.  The library is really really good.  It offers tons of large table where you can comfortably study without feeling crammed.  It has 665,000 square feet.  That is over twice the size of my high school.
9/26/2011 10:57 AM
Inside the doors of the library

9/26/2011 11:00 AM
This is my favorite section to study in.  Fourth floor, Juvenile section.  There is a large colorful mural on the wall that I often stare at when I'm feeling a bit A.D.H.D..

9/26/2011 11:03 AM
The girl sitting diagonally from me at this same table was staring at me when I took this.

9/26/2011 11:03 AM
Sometimes when I need a short break from studying I'll choose a random short book (remember, Juvenile Section) off the shelve and read it.  My Grandma Hales would be proud.

9/26/2011 11:59 AM
Leaving the library to eat lunch.
9/26/2011 12:02 PM
Walking down to the BYU cafeteria, the Canon Center.

9/26/2011 12:50 PM
I saw wardy Desiree just outside of the Canon Center, so I took a picture of her.  She is great AND she is learning Japanese which I think is pretty cool.  She is Hawaiian.

9/26/2011 12:09 PM
Here I am waiting in line for the Canon Center.  Whenever I wait in line anywhere, I whip out my phone and start studying Chinese.  This app cost $40.  Expensive?  No.  They sell devices that are translators and such that cost +$200, and they don't do a fraction of what this app does.

9/26/2011 12:14 PM
Every time I go to the Canon Center I meet friends there, they're usually Asian.  Today I saw my Korean friends first and was lucky enough that one of them is my awesome friend Lucia!  She is the girl on the left.

9/26/2011 12:40 PM
These are some of my Chinese friends Yang Tian Yi and Cao Ran.

9/26/2011
This is another Chinese friend, Jiang Jing, who I often eat lunch with.

9/26/2011 12:52 PM
Waving goodbye to Jessica and Lucia as I head off to my Internet Programming class.
9/26/2011 12:54 PM
Here I am inside of the Talmage Building (not to be confused with the previous Tanner Building).  This is the building of Math & Sciences, so I spend TONS of time here programming in the basement where the sun doesn't shine.  Anyways, I during those intense periods where I'm programming against the clock, I generally get my meals here.  There is a nearby microwave, so the frozen vending machine is especially nice during those times.

9/26/2011 1:04 PM
My professor is pretty dang cool.  In fact, I have loved every single one of my Computer Science professors.

9/26/2011 1:05 PM
First of all, I love the face expression of the dude in the background.  Ok, so this is Stan, he deserves some explanation.  Stan and I seem to have something in common, that is, we both have social lives while nobody else in the class does.  We are often amused at some certain comments of our fellow classmates.  It's when we leave class do we seem to make sense of what we hear in class.  Stan is cool.

9/26/2011 1:56 PM
Internet Programming is over and I'm headed over to my Statistics class.

9/26/2011 1:57 PM
I get there a little early and drop my stuff at the chair in the very front at the very end.  I then use the bathroom and refill my water bottle.  At the beginning of class I participate in the little i-clicker quizzers so I can get participation/attendance credit, and then I take a nap until class gets out.

9/26/2011 2:18 PM
Stats.
9/26/2011 2:53 PM
Statistics is out and I needed to defecate, so I headed to my favorite bathroom.

9/26/2011 2:53 PM
The library is in sight...

9/26/2011 2:53 PM
Oh, and the weather had been awesome lately, so students often chilled outside.

9/26/2011 2:55 PM
Into the library and down I go...

9/26/2011 2:56 PM
A have arrived!

9/26/2011 2:56 PM
Somebody walked in just as I took this, so that's why it's blurry.  I didn't want to get caught with a camera in the bathroom, let alone taking a picture in the bathroom.  That's just a little weird.
9/26/2011 3:05 PM
Back to the Talmage Building I go.

9/26/2011 3:06 PM
Down into the basement.

9/26/2011 3:07 PM
Each lab has a theme, and every computer has a name.  I usually go to the Pizza Lab.

9/26/2011 3:49
This computer's name is "Sauce".

9/26/2011 4:49 PM
I left the Talmage building..
9/26/2011 4:51 PM
I saw my friend Wang Chao.

9/26/2011 4:56 PM
I heard music coming from somewhere, so I investigated.

9/26/2011 5:05 PM
I met up with Nozomi is the "No Shhhh Zone" in the library to work on our homework for our Computer Science Algorithms Class.

9/26/2011 5:45 PM
Still going at it...

9/26/2011 7:27 PM
After doing homework with Nozomi (please note the time difference) I needed to eat, so I went to Costa Vida.  I talked on the phone as a walked with my mission president's wife because we're tight like that.

9/26/2011 7:38 PM
Yum.  Still talking on the phone.  While eating my all-time favorite teacher, Emma Turner, walked by with her two kids.  She was having FHE with them.  I took calculus 2 from her.  Sweet Pork Burrito for the win.

9/26/2011 8:02 PM
Just leaving Costa Vida.  It shares space with a hip bowling alley.

9/26/2011 8:03 PM
Heading off.

9/26/2011 8:11 PM
Back to campus I go.
9/26/2011 8:15 PM
Monday night.  Everyone was at FHE.  My roommates are great, but they aren't my family.

9/26/2011 8:15 PM
I went back into the Pizza Lab and did some more programming.

9/26/2011 8:44 PM
I was waiting for Nozomi to come so we could work next to each other.  I had been sick with the flu for three weeks and was just coming out of it.  I got really really tired and didn't feel too great, so I was calling it quits.

9/26/2011 8:56 PM
Down the long ramp I go to get back to my apartment.

9/26/2011 9:19 PM
My buddy Kei Ikeda lives at the same apartment complex as I do and I hadn't seen him for a few days, so I stopped by his place for a moment on the way home to say hi.
9/26/2011 9:23 PM
I saw a slug on the ground on my way to my apartment.  It brought me joy.

9/26/2011 9:24 PM
My apartment ALWAYS has TONS of people in it.  Yeah, it's a pretty kickin place.  Buying that TV was a great idea; it is fully utilized.

9/26/2011 9:25 PM
They were playing some came on the Nintendo Wii or something.  I was dead tired and just wanted to get to bed.

9/26/2011 9:25 PM
More people just chillin' on the couch.  I hope you like our flags.  The flags all represent where we served our missions, for we all served internationally.  I have a flag for Australia and China since I served people from mainland China.

9/26/2011 9:25 PM

9/26/2011 9:27 PM
Zach and I were both wearing soda related shirts, so we took a picture of us.

9/26/2011 10:09
Zach, Moses, and Myself.  Moses is from Mali in Africa and is super awesome.  He speaks French, some African language, and he is learning English.
9/26/2011 10:10 PM
Preston was giving Kurt a hair cut and Hailey was keeping us happy, if ya know what I mean.

9/26/2011 10:10 PM
The twins in my apartment are artists, so Rachel (whom I saw as I left my apartment in the morning) Hailey come over and paint, or something.

9/26/2011 10:14 PM
So I've obtain a virtual fireplace and a virtual aquarium to put on the TV.  We all love it so much.  We also play nature sounds through the sound system and turn on nice smelling scent things.  Our apartment is sick as.

9/26/2011 10:17 PM
Not feelin well.  Brushed my teeth and went to bed :)

  3. Byu buildings are cool. Much cooler than WSU. Your day is quite busy. And your house looks like a partay. Soon you will be trudging through snow, and you will have to redo this so I can see how much snow you have to trudge in. Snow on campus is the worst.
